outfit of the day(bird): beaver dam

the other day i was driving with the kiddos and i said, "oh darn!" my daughter promptly said, "ooh, mama, you said a bad word!" i replied that darn, in fact, was not a bad word, and that she was thinking of another word that starts with 'd'. a few minutes went by and my son said, "oh, i know what that word is, it's damn!" and of course i had to tell them that they couldn't say that word.

always trying to find a way around things, he said to me, "well, there's a good way to say it, like a beaver dam." and i conceded. but i reiterated that the only time it was ok to say that was if they were talking about beavers (those damn beavers).

a few more minutes went by and henry exclaimed, "wait, mama...there are actually three ways to say that word! there's the bad way, and then two good ways." i had to know... "one good way is when you talk about beavers, and the other good way is when you say 'that's DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN good!"

i had to laugh.

this outfit consists of my fall staples...leggings, tunic, scarf and boots. i wear it, in different variations, probably five times a week. it's layered, it's comfy, it's warm...you can't go wrong. it's a daaaaaamn good outfit!
